Reading this site’s market data

Market Intelligence

The provider did not return that figure for these assets.

Figures come from this site’s own market data and describe what has already happened. Nothing here is a forecast or investment advice.

What we analyse

Counted from this site's own data, not a brochure.

394 assets tracked on this site

The universe

Only assets an editor has added to this site. Nothing is tracked by accident.

  • 248 cryptocurrencies
  • 81 stocks
  • 40 ETFs
  • 25 currency pairs

The measures

Every figure below is reported by the provider, not derived by us.

  • Price, in the currency you choose
  • Movement over 24 hours and 7 days
  • Traded volume
  • Market capitalisation
  • 52 week high and low, where the provider supplies it
  • Price history for the chart ranges

The currencies

Conversion happens at the rate held at the moment of display.

  • USD
  • EUR
  • GBP
  • INR
  • AED
  • JPY
  • CAD
  • AUD

What we do not do

Said plainly, because the omission matters more than the list above.

  • No price predictions or targets
  • No buy, sell or hold recommendations
  • No sentiment scores or confidence ratings
  • No account, portfolio or order handling

How our intelligence works

Five steps, in the order they actually run.

  1. Collect

Quotes come from the market data providers configured on this site — CoinGecko, Finnhub, Frankfurter (ECB) — on a schedule, not on every page view. A provider that fails is retried and then handed to its fallback.

  2. Normalise

Every provider answers in its own shape. Each quote is mapped onto one record — price, movement, volume, market cap, currency — so a coin and a share can sit in the same ranking without the comparison being nonsense.

  3. Cache

Records refresh every 30 seconds and are served from cache in between. When a refresh cannot be made, the last good figures are shown and labelled as such rather than being quietly presented as current.

  4. Read the question

Your question is parsed here, on this server: the asset class, the measure, the period, the direction and how many results you asked for. Nothing is sent to a third party and no answer is written by a language model.

  5. Rank and show

Assets are sorted on the exact field the question names, and the answer states the period it actually used and which classes it covered. If a market returned nothing, it says so instead of quietly narrowing the field.
