How It Works

A currency has no single price: it always has a price in terms of another currency. Every figure on this page is quoted against USD unless a pair says otherwise.

How We Calculate

Capital Signal obtains exchange-rate data from configured data providers and normalises it before displaying it. Reference rates are published once per business day by most sources, so weekend and holiday figures repeat the last published rate.

Historical Data

Performance is measured from the published rate series. Where a reference day has no published rate, the last one before it is used.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the SGD/USD rate calculated?

Capital Signal does not set the rate. It receives published rates from its configured data providers, normalises them into a single format, and shows the most recent one together with the time it was published.

Is the exchange rate live?

Not necessarily. Each figure carries the time it was published, and a delayed figure is labelled as such. Reference rates from central-bank sources are published once per business day, so they do not change intraday or at weekends.

How often is the data updated?

Figures are cached for a short period and refreshed when a page is requested after that period has passed. How current they can be depends on the data source: continuous markets update through the day, while reference rates update once per business day.

What do 3D, 5D and 7D mean?

They are look-back windows: the change between the price three, five or seven days ago and the latest available price. Each one is measured from the same stored price series, and a window is left blank when the series has no usable reference price for it.

Is this financial advice?

No. Everything on this page is market information for general use. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.
