Private credit is repricing risk it has not yet had to test

Marks are stable because there is nothing forcing them to move. That is not the same as stability.

The asset class has grown through a period without a genuine default cycle. The models are calibrated on that history, which is the part worth thinking about.

Where the first cracks appear

Amendment activity usually moves before marks do. So does the mix of payment-in-kind interest, which converts a cash problem into an accounting one.
