Ethereum Price Prediction as BitMine Expands ETH Holdings to 5.82M

Ethereum price prediction focuses on the $1,918 resistance level as BitMine expands its treasury holdings to 5.82 million ETH, while whale accumulation continues near the $1,800 to $1,900 range.

Ethereum Price Prediction as BitMine Expands ETH Holdings to 5.82M

Key Insights:

  • Ethereum price prediction hinges on $1,918 as BitMine adds 9,926 ETH.
  • BitMine holds 5,815,164 ETH and has staked 87% of its treasury.
  • Whale demand builds near $1,900, but downside risk extends toward $1,700.

BitMine has increased its Ethereum treasury as the token trades around a critical technical pivot point. Following the acquisition of 9,926 ETH last week, the firm’s total holdings reached 5,815,164 ETH, accounting for roughly 4.8% of Ethereum’s 120.7 million circulating tokens. Current Ethereum price predictions weigh ongoing institutional buying against overhead resistance near $1,918.

Ether changed hands around $1,902 after briefly touching $1,910 on August 17. Meanwhile, recent whale withdrawals indicate that large buyers view the $1,800–$1,900 range as an attractive zone for accumulation.

While a decisive break above resistance could bolster recovery hopes, waning momentum leaves open the possibility of a pullback toward $1,750 or lower.

Ethereum Price Prediction Tracks BitMine Treasury Growth

BitMine’s weekly purchase elevated its stockpile to 5.82 million ETH. Based on the company’s reference price of $1,893, that cache was valued at approximately $11 billion, achieving 96% of its five-percent target.

The outlook for Ethereum also factors in the substantial portion of coins BitMine has dedicated to staking. The company’s staked volume climbed to 5,067,309 ETH—worth about $9.6 billion—which represents 87% of its total Ethereum reserves.

BitMine reported a seven-day annualized staking yield of 2.61%, with management anticipating yearly staking revenues near $250 million. The company estimates that fully staking its entire Ether portfolio could lift annual rewards to $287 million.

As of August 16, BitMine’s combined crypto, cash, securities, and strategic investments totaled $11.4 billion. This portfolio included 210 BTC, $78 million in cash and marketable securities, alongside stakes valued at $180 million in Beast Industries and $73 million in Eightco.

BitMine Buybacks Coincide with Broader Whale Accumulation

During the same week, BitMine repurchased 1.7 million common shares. This brings total buybacks since July to more than 20.8 million shares under its $4 billion authorized program, with leadership maintaining that the stock is undervalued.

Concurrently, Arkham Intelligence data reveals that address 0x8447 withdrew 5,300 ETH from Kraken on August 17. The transaction amounted to roughly $9.98 million as Ether traded near $1,890.

The same wallet previously withdrew approximately 357 ETH and routed 224 ETH to Ethereum’s staking contract. Its liquid balance hovered around 5,433 ETH, valued near $10.3 million, bringing its total position including staked holdings to about $10.7 million.

An additional prominent address amassed roughly 121,000 ETH over the course of a month, a total that features a 9,000 ETH withdrawal from Gemini valued at $227 million. Such exchange withdrawals remove readily available supply from circulation, although they do not guarantee future price movements.

Ethereum Price Prediction Watches the $1,918 Breakout

On the daily chart, Ethereum’s price action is tightening inside a symmetrical triangle pattern. Lower highs and rising lows converge near $1,890, signaling a shrinking trading band alongside the 20-day exponential moving average at $1,883.

Immediate overhead resistance stands at the 50-day exponential moving average near $1,918. A confirmed daily close above this barrier could enhance the Ethereum price prediction, paving the way toward the $2,050–$2,125 zone.

However, market momentum has yet to validate a full recovery. Ether remains beneath its 200-day moving average of $2,012 amid declining trading volumes, while a bearish MACD dampens confidence in the recent push past the 20-day average.

To the downside, the rising support line of the triangle serves as the primary gauge. A breakdown could direct Ethereum toward $1,750–$1,700, with some analysts viewing $1,715–$1,750 as a potential accumulation area prior to a broader rebound.

Reaching milestones beyond $3,000 will necessitate clearing multiple preceding hurdles. For now, the Ethereum price prediction depends on achieving sustained closes above $1,918, $2,012, and $2,125.
